Sansone Group, in partnership with Clous Road Partners, has broken ground on Village North, a transformative 91,000-square-foot Whole Foods-anchored retail development in West Chester Township, Ohio. The project will bring premier shopping and dining experiences to the area, further enhancing the township’s growing commercial corridor.

The groundbreaking ceremony held yesterday (April 2) brought together community leaders, development partners, and local stakeholders to commemorate the launch of the 12.62-acre project. With five thoughtfully designed retail buildings, Village North is poised to elevate West Chester’s commercial landscape and serve as a catalyst for continued regional growth.

Doug Sansone, Principal at Sansone Group, highlighted the importance of this milestone, stating, “My father started in retail, coming from very humble beginnings with only his work ethic and his word... we are guided by those same principles today – our word and our work ethic. With all the development that we have done, this is our first Whole Foods-anchored shopping center, and I’m confident this will be our landmark retail development.”

Buffalo Construction will serve as the general contractor, delivering the project with exceptional quality and efficiency. Leasing is being led by Cushman & Wakefield, who will curate a mix of high-quality tenants aligned with the community’s needs and aspirations.

Grant Mechlin, Executive Director of Retail & Multifamily Brokerage Services at Sansone Group, spoke about the team's thoughtful design process and the project’s appeal to both retailers and customers, saying, “Village North is a 90,000-square-foot shopping center anchored by a 40,000-square-foot Whole Foods, located in one of the most sought-after sub-markets in all of Cincinnati. We worked closely with our internal teams and design partners to ensure the center maximized visibility while maintaining walkability and connectivity for Whole Foods customers throughout the project. With multiple patios, green space, and areas to dine, gather, and recreate, it’s a highly desirable site for both retailers and customers.”

Max Davis of Clous Road Partners, Brett Norton of Buffalo Construction, Terry Ohnmeis of Cushman & Wakefield, and Joe Hinson of the Chamber Alliance also offered remarks at the ceremony, underscoring the collaborative spirit driving the development forward.

Village North is expected to open in 2026, setting a new standard for regional retail development and delivering long-term value to residents, businesses, and visitors in the area.
